On February 17, 2017, Governor Bruce Rauner signed SB 3319.
This legislation provides a remedy for a simple human error by the DuPage Election Commission. The Election Commission published notice of the November 8, 2016 election 3 days too soon (published 33 days vs. 30 days before the election.) This legislation is critical to enable the Library District to proceed with plans to finance a new Library building for the Lombard community and allows the will of the voters to prevail, i.e., the voters approved via referendum increasing the Library District’s limiting rate (per PTELL) (10,471 to 9,357).
Thank you to everyone who contacted the Governor Rauner’s office on behalf of the Library!
